ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met early on Saturday with U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman.
Sources said that Edelman told Erdogan that the U.S. government would accept PKK as a terrorist organization whatever its name was and would not permit the organization.
The sources said that Edelman asked for appointment from Erdogan, who returned to Ankara late, since he would go to the United States.
Erdogan received Edelman and the meeting took place in the Prime Ministry building.
In the meeting, Edelman pointed out that the terrorist organization PKK changed its name but its name was not important.
Edelman stated that the U.S. administration accepted PKK as a terrorist organization whatever its name was and would never permit it.
U.S. Ambassador Edelman also told Erdogan that the terrorist organization decided to hold a press conference in Iraq on Saturday but the United States instructed its units in Iraq to prevent that press conference.
