ANKARA - The Internal Affairs Committee of the Turkish Parliament adopted today a draft law which authorizes burial of former PM Bulent Ecevit to the State Cemetery.
The Committee amended the law on the State Cemetery, and thus pave the way for laying Ecevit to rest at this cemetery.
Ecevit died at the Gulhane Military Hospital (GATA) on Sunday of circulatory and respiratory problems. He was hospitalized on May 18th, 2006 after suffering a stroke. He underwent a brain surgery due to hemorrhage, and was in an induced coma since then.
