ANKARA - "We will build nearly 50 underpasses in Ankara next year," said Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gokcek on Wednesday.
He stressed that crossroads and roads are not sufficient for the crowded traffic of Ankara.
"We want to start construction of those 50 underpasses at the same time," he added.
"Residents of Ankara will face difficulties for 3 months in summer, but after summer holiday, the traffic will be much better," he noted.
Gokcek said that 30 more underpasses --besides those 50 underpasses-- are necessary, but they will be built in coming years.
