ISTANBUL - Italian companies are investing in Turkish market with a growing interest, head of Turkey's influential business association TUSIAD's international branch, told a business meeting in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) International Chairman Aldo Kaslowski stated that currently 500 Italian firms were operating in Turkey, adding that 69 Italian firms ventured 1.15 billion USD in Turkey in 2005.
Whereas in the first 8 months of 2006, 75 Italian firms invested 3.97 billion USD in Turkish market, Kaslowski said.
Speaking at a meeting co-hosted by TUSIAD and Italian Trade Center, Kaslowski stated that with the onset of Turkey's integration into the European markets economic relations between Turkey and Italy grew steadily in terms of commerce and investments.
Kaslowski also said that Turkey was the third biggest trade partner of Italy in 2005 with volume of 13.7 billion USD.
