ANKARA - Automobiles manufactured in Turkey will be carried to Europe in cargo trains, said Turkish Railways Directorate General (TCDD) today.
According to the TCDD, all necessary negotiations and contracts have been made with authorities from Romania and Bulgaria as well as auto manufacturers.
The first cargo train carrying autos made in Turkey will depart from north-western city of Izmit's Kosekoy Station on Tuesday and reach Bucharest after a trip of 56 hours. There will be three trains carrying automobiles each week.
Authorities plan to carry up to 350,000 automobiles in trains annually.
