ANKARA - Esref Unsal, the Chairman of the Association of Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists in Europe (ATIAD), said on Thursday that there was a dynamic power in Turkey and there was lack of dynamism abroad.
''We have to bring them together,'' said Unsal during the visit of ATIAD delegation with Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun.
Speaking after the meeting which was closed to the press, Unsal said that in the meeting they discussed the relations of Turkish businessmen living in Europe with Turkey, the things they could do for Turkey. Unsal said that the meeting was very positive.
''We want Turkey to benefit from the material and spiritual wealth which accumulated in Europe for 40 years,'' said Unsal. Noting that Turkish businessmen in Europe could have significant contributions to the development, economy of Turkey and its relations with the EU, Unsal said that they also had good relations with politicians of EU countries, particularly with those of Germany.
Unsal stated that they met with German Chancellor Schroeder before coming to Turkey and they brought his messages to Ankara, adding that they would come to Turkey with Schroeder and Turkish businessmen in February, next year.
Pointing out to the dynamic power of Turkey, Unsal said that ''there is technology, information accumulation, market power and finance opportunities abroad, but there is also lack of dynamism. We must bring them together, I am sure this will be beneficial to Turkey.''
