ANKARA - Esref Unsal, the Chairman of Association of Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists in Europe (ATIAD) said on Thursday that the investment of Turkish citizens living abroad could increase to 150 billion Euros in 2010.
Speaking in a news conference, Unsal gave information about the contacts ATIAD delegation had in Ankara for the last three days.
Referring to various problems of Turks in Europe, Unsal said that many good footballers came out from Turks living in Europe.
Stressing that the age average was 44 in Europe and 27 in Turkey, Unsal said that the age difference which was 17 symbolized a great dynamism for Turkey, adding that Europe's future was in Turkey.
Unsal said that German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder invited ATIAD delegation to come with him during his visit to Turkey on February 20, 2004.
ATIAD member Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Aksu said in his part that the money of Turkish citizens living abroad could be transferred to Turkey, adding that 5-10 billion Euros could be transferred to Turkey in short term and 20-30 billion Euros could be transferred to Turkey in long term.
Foreign Trade Foundation's Chairman Ertugrul Onen said in his part that they organized World Turkish Businessmen Congress once in every two years, adding that ''we have more than 2,000 entrepreneurs in more than 50 countries. We want to join the EU and we want to hold the congress in Ankara in 2004.''
