HAKKARI - Three people are still missing after the floods which hit Semdinli town of southeastern city of Hakkari yesterday, governor's office announced early on Monday.
Releasing a statement, the governor's office indicated that four people were wounded in the floods, triggered by torrential rains that began in the town on Sunday afternoon.
According to the statement, families who have been affected by the flood have been settled in two schools, the state hospital and Teachers' Club and are being served hot meal by the army and boarding school management.
Eight people, who were stranded on the roof of their houses, were rescued by soldiers, while power lines were damaged and some roads were closed to traffic.
150 houses were demolished, and 150 others were evacuated after the floods which also closed schools in Semdinli for two days.
