ANKARA - Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Saturday that they have made a proposal to the Bulgarian party for the construction of the Suakacagi Dam, planned to be jointly constructed with Bulgaria.
Replying to questions of reporters about his visit to Bulgaria, Guler said he met Bulgarian Economy & Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov.
Guler remarked that he presented a written proposal to the Bulgarian party for the construction of Suakacagi Dam, noting that a team would travel to Bulgaria on November 15th or 16th to finalize the agreement about the dam. "If the Bulgarian party accepts our proposal, a protocol will be signed and this protocol will be approved in parliaments of the two countries."
Guler said that Turkey is experienced in construction of natural gas pipelines. "Bulgaria wants to take advantage of our experiences. We will extend technical support to Bulgarian experts," he added.
