SANLIURFA - 26 or 27 regional development agencies will be set up in Turkey, said Turkish State Minister & Deputy PM Abdullatif Sener.
Taking the floor in the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) meeting of Turkish businessmen living in Europe held in southeastern city of Sanliurfa, Sener indicated that one of the advantages of this region is its geographical closeness to the Middle Eastern market.
Sener stated that goods produced in this region can be marketed in neighboring countries like Syria, Iran and Iraq.
On the other hand, "our target is to reach an export figure of 83 billion USD on the 83rd anniversary of foundation of Republic of Turkey," Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said.
Tuzmen forecast the year-end foreign trade volume around 210 billion USD, recalling that Turkey earned 73 billion USD from exports, and had an import figure of 116 billion USD last year.
