ANKARA - Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun said on Wednesday, ''we have been cooperating with Tunisia in commercial and social fields for a long time. The Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) is planning to open a representation in Tunisia within two months.''
A photograph exhibition entitled ''Tunisia from Eyes of Turkish Photographer'' was opened at the Tunisian Embassy in Ankara.
Industry and Trade Minister Coskun, Tunisian Ambassador to Turkey Mohamed Lessir, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Nevzat Yalcintas and Turkey-Tunisia Friendship Association Chairman Sukru Yurur attended inauguration of the exhibition.
Speaking at the inauguration, Coskun recalled that economic relations with Tunisia had accelerated during the term in office of Turgut Ozal, the former president of Turkey.
Highlighting importance of businessmen in efforts to further improve friendly relations among states, Coskun said, ''TSE is planning to open a representation in Tunisia within two months. As a result, Turkey will have taken a new step in its standard works.''
The exhibition comprising of photographs taken by retired diplomat Erkut Onart, will remain open till November 17, 2003.
