WASHINGTON D.C. - The United States has said that it had also recognized the Kurdistan People's Congress (KHK), which is expected to replace with the terrorist organization of PKK/KADEK, as terrorist.
An official of the U.S. State Department told the A.A on Wednesday that they called on KHK members to put an end to violence and to benefit from the Reassociation Law.
Noting that they rejected congress of the PKK/KADEK and its efforts to get rid of its terrorist activities, the official recalled that the attitude of the United States about such organizations was quite clear.
The official said that PKK was a terrorist organization whatever its name was, stressing that any change in the name of the organization could not change the fact.
U.S. State Department official noted that ongoing acts of violence of members of the PKK/KADEK/KHK had proved that the organization had still been continuing its terrorist activities.
Pointing out that recent clash of PKK members against Iraqi border police and U.S. forces in northern Iraq, and attacks in Turkey had revealed the terrorist intentions of the PKK, the official said that the organization would always be considered terrorist whether its name was PKK, KADEK or KHK.
The official said that they would not make any concessions from their policy of not allowing any terrorist shelters in Iraq.
The official added that they called on members of the PKK/KADEK/KHK to put an end to violence and to benefit from the Reassociation Law.
