ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, State Minister Nimet Cubukcu, and Chairman of the Religious Affairs Department Ali Bardakoglu will cooperate with each other to stop the violence toward women.
Spot films, in which Erdogan, Cubukcu and Bardakoglu will give messages to end violence against women will be shown on national television channels on the occasion of the day to halt violence against women (on November 25th) along with imams in all mosques.
Coats for men, carrying the slogan "NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN", will be on sale all across Turkey.
In the spot films, Erdogan will give the message that "violence against women cannot be tolerated and must be ended".
On the other hand, Cubukcu will convey the message that "violence against women will be punished heavily and that punishment for honor killings would be life imprisonment".
Bardakoglu`s statements will send the message that violence against women is punishable by laws and that it is a deadly sin.
