BURSA-ISTANBUL - Bursa Governor Oguz Kagan Koksal said on Wednesday regarding the open-air meeting and march which the Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) wanted to organize in Gemlik town of northwestern Bursa province that ''they wanted to organize an illegal march and we prevented that.''
Speaking to A.A corespondent, Koksal said that a series of decisions were taken by the terrorist organization PKK/KADEK with the name of ''road map for peace and democratic solution'' and DEHAP decided to organize a march in Gemlik within the scope of an action plan it prepared in the same parallel with the name of ''solution campaign for peace.'' Noting that the big DEHAP group which came from Ankara and other small groups coming from Yalova and Balikesir directions were stopped by gendarme and police on the way to the town, Koksal said that ''they wanted to hold an illegal march. We took measures and we didn't allow that march. After reading the press statement, the groups started to return to their cities.'' Koksal said that police and gendarme took broad security measures and there was no need to detain anybody.
In Istanbul a group which was not permitted to leave for Gemlik shouted slogans supporting the head of the terrorist organization and they later threw stones to the building of Beyoglu police department.
