ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan said on Wednesday that 2003 year became a year of success and record for Turkish economy despite negative developments stemming from war in Iraq.
Babacan made a presentation on 2004 year budgets of State Planning Organization (DPT) and Treasury Undersecretariat at the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Commission and said that both Turkish people's confidence in the government and the government's determination and discipline to implement economic program yielded positive results in 2003.
Stating that a big part of targets determined in the government program and urgent action plan was fulfilled, Babacan said that Turkish economy entered a rapid recovery process.
Babacan added that the government worked to bring Turkey to a position that the country deserved.
