ANKARA - The tender regarding the sale of cigarette enterprises of state-run Tobacco and Liquor Administration (TEKEL) has been cancelled.
Privatization Administration said on Tuesday that the cigarette enterprises of TEKEL was put out to tender on June 7, 2003 and the offers were received on October 24, 2003.
''Tender Commission evaluated the offers on November 5, 2003 and it has been decided to cancel the tender,'' the Administration added.
Japon Tobacco International (JTI) had offered 1,15 billion U.S. dollars for the sale of cigarette enterprises of TEKEL.
