LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said on Tuesday that the world put forth scenarios which could turn the atmosphere of peace into an atmosphere of war on Cyprus or which could force Turkish Cypriots to move away from that territory in time.
Eroglu received a delegation of war veterans from Office of General Staff to attend the 20th anniversary of foundation of TRNC.
Speaking in the meeting, Eroglu said that ''Annan plan was a plan which would send first Turkey then Turks from Cyprus and make Enosis or Megali Idea of Greece become true on Cyprus.''
Eroglu noted that the fact that TRNC was a separate Turkish state should be accepted by the world and recalled that the world had not accepted TRNC reality.
''If TRNC reality was accepted, it could be more possible to reach a lasting agreement,'' Eroglu said.
Eroglu stated that ''it was not possible to understand the world's enabling occurrence of incidents by a spark with the thought to intermingle two nations.''
A partnership state should be founded by existence of two states and two nations, Eroglu said.
Eroglu noted that two countries should co-exist after that, adding, ''unfortunately, the world begrudges this.''
Eroglu said that ''recently interferences in TRNC increased particularly due to the elections in TRNC. On the one hand, there is the U.S., and on the other hand there is the EU. While we try to make the TRNC live, we get the biggest support from Turkey. We believe that we will live in peace by the support of our motherland. In that respect we won't permit dilution of effective and active guarantee of Turkey on Cyprus.''
Retired Gen. Orhan Kose said in his part that an act which would cause end of TRNC's independence couldn't be compensated.
