Turkish- Minex- 2003 Manoeuvre To Be Exercised Between 11-21 November In Three Stages

CANAKKALE - Admiral Ozer Karabulut, the mine fleet commander of Navy Command said on Tuesday that the Turkish Minex-2003 would be exercised between 11-21 November in Aegean Sea in three parts.
Speaking in a news conference, Admiral Karabulut said that Turkish-Minex-2003 exercise, which was one of the regular manoeuvres of Naval Forces Command, would be held to improve cooperation and coordination with friendly and ally countries in mine war.
''This manoeuvre is a manoeuvre of invitation. We plan this manoeuvre and we invite other countries. Ships from NATO Mine Counter Measures Force South (MCMFORSOUTH) take part in the manoeuvre. There are two ships from Germany, one ship from Italy, one ship from Greece, one ship from Spain and one ship from Turkey as NATO fleet. In addition, various ships and one plane from our national army will also join the manoeuvre,'' he said.
Admiral Karabulut said that the manoeuvre would be directed from Mine War Operation Centre and that it would be carried out in three stages.
Admiral Karabulut stated that the foreign guests would be taken to the historical and touristic places of Canakkale after the manoeuvre.
MCMFORSOUTH Commander German Colonel Michael Mann also attended the news conference of Karabulut.
