ISTANBUL - A Georgian-flagged cargo ship ran aground off Anadolufeneri on Istanbul Strait on Monday.
Officials of Maritime Undersecretariat Search and Rescue Coordination Center told A.A correspondent that Georgian-flagged ship named ''Svatoy Panteleymon'' went adrift due to severe weather conditions when it was to set sail to the Black Sea and ran aground between Anadolufeneri and Yon Cape on the Istanbul Strait.
The officials said that there were 25 crew members on the ship which was not loaded and the ship was en route from Tunisia to Ukraine.
Two tug-boats were sent to the spot of the accident, the officials added.
The Georgian-flagged ship was 16 thousand 216 gross tons in weight and 171 meters in length.
