ABUJA - The two black box flight recorders of a Nigerian plane which crashed on Sunday in Abuja, killing 96 people, have been found, the head of police in Abuja said Monday.
"We found about an hour ago the cockpit voice recorder. It was handed over to the inspector general of police Sunday Ehindero. The flight data recorder was found on Sunday," Lawrence Alobi said.
The Boeing 737 of private airline ADC crashed shortly after it took off from Abuja airport despite the bad weather.
Following the accident, the Nigerian aviation authorities on Monday withdrew the operating licence of the airline "with immediate effect".
ADC became the fourth airline in a year to be banned from flying in Nigeria.
