GUL:IF WE CAN'T GET DATE FROM EU, THIS WILL BE DISASTER
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul told True Path Party (DYP) deputy leader Mehmet Ali Bayar regarding the connection made between Cyprus issue and EU membership of Turkey that ''if you look at the issue as a politician, the disaster will come true if Turkey does not get a membership date from EU even if it solves Cyprus issue.''

RECORD IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
The high increase in industrial production also continued in September this year and a record of the last 19 years was broken. Industrial production index increased by 12.7 percent in September when compared to the same month last year and the increase in the first nine months of the year increased by 8.4 percent when compared to the same period in 2002.

IF WILLS COINCIDE, LOAN COMES RAPIDLY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the United States' not transferring the loan worth of 8.5 billion dollars was out of question following Turkey's decision on not sending soldiers to Iraq. Emphasizing that there was not a certain date for the transfer of the loan, Erdogan said that the loan could come at any moment and added that the issue was coinciding of mutual wills.

GUL: U.S. PROTECTS KURDS IN IRAQ
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said that negotiations which would endanger Iraq's territorial integrity should not be allowed. He added that however the United States was protecting Kurdish groups in Iraq. He said that he hoped this would not cause potential dangers to appear in Iraq.

The 100 brightest young persons of Turkey prepare and test the products of the future in the Information Age headquarters in Seattle, the U.S. All of them are computer and industry engineers who studied in the most successful universities of Turkey. Majority of them were discovered by people working for Bill Gates when they were studying in their universities. The age of majority of them is below 30. They design computer programmes and test new products for Microsoft. All of them enjoy their job very much.

THY TO BUY 57 NEW PLANES
Turkish Airlines (THY) will buy 57 new planes until the year 2007. THY will change 32 old models with new models, and 25 new planes will be bought. Thus the number of planes of Turkish Airlines will increase to 90 within four years.

TURKEY'S CREDIT LESSENS
Onur Oymen, former ambassador and a top member of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) said that the U.S. saw that Turkey's sending soldiers to Iraq would not contribute to the solution of Iraq problem, but rather it would bring out new problems and it asked Turkey to give up the idea of sending soldiers to Iraq. If the government didn't take the decision to send soldiers from the beginning, Turkey would gain esteem, Oymen said. But now Turkey lost credits as it had to take that decision due to suggestion of another country, he added.

ANKARA'S IRAQ PLAN
Turkey prepared a new plan on its Iraq policy. Turkey will try to increase its trade with Iraq, win important bids in reconstruction of Iraq and it will also send humanitarian aid to Iraq to meet the daily needs of Iraqi people.

INDUSTRY NOT SLOW DOWN
The production of industry sector increased 12.7 percent in September when compared with the same period of last year. The increase in production in the nine months of 2003 is 8.4 percent.

GUL REPROACHES
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul reproached to the United States regarding the issue of sending soldiers. He said that the United States was protecting Kurds and added he hoped that the United States would not need soldiers in the future.

SURVEY OF SIS FRIGHTENS
According to the survey of State Institute of Statistics (SIS), 12.2 million people in Turkey earn one dollar a day and 13.5 million people earn two dollars a day. The international criteria is that one dollar is the limit of starvation and an amount under two dollars is poverty limit.

ERDOGAN CONDEMNS ATTITUDE OF SUPREME COURT OF APPEALS JUDGE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attitude of Supreme Court of Appeals' Chairman of Fourth Penal Department Inan who took a suspect wearing head scarf from the court room. ''I regard this as a personal attitude and an ideological approach,'' Erdogan said. Noting that the issue had to be taken out from the agenda of the country, Erdogan added that the victims would take the necessary steps.

GUL:I HOPE U.S. WON'T CALL TURKEY AGAIN TO IRAQ
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said that the government decided not to send soldiers to Iraq as they thought this would not be useful. ''If there is a demand in the future, we will assess it,'' said Gul hoping the U.S. not to need Turkey in Iraq again.

CENTERS TO REFRESH BORDER TRADE TO BECOME ACTIVE
Border Trade Centers (STM) project, which aims to contribute to economic development of East and Southeast Anatolia regions and to increase export amount, will be put into practice by Foreign Trade Undersecretariat until the end of year. First of the STMs, which are targeted to be established on borders of 13 provinces of Turkey, will be active on three points of Iranian border until the end of 2003.

FAMILIAR ACT FROM VERHEUGEN: TURKEY AWAY FROM EU MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen said that Turkey was very far away from meeting membership criteria, following the announcement of the progress report of EU Commission for Turkey.
