Demonstration Against Higher Board Of Education In Izmir

IZMIR - Members of teachers trade union Egitim-Sen and Izmir Free Students Platform protested on Saturday the Higher Board of Education in western Izmir province.
While the members of the teachers trade union dispersed after the public release that protested 2004 year budget and Higher Board of Education, the crowded students group started walking to AK Party headquarters.
The group shouted slogans while walking and they reached the party headquarters. After releasing a public statement there, some members of the group started to throw stones and molotov cocktails in the streets. Windows of one police vehicle, three buses, some bus stations, business places and cars were broken.
Police detained 12 persons from the group.
