ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank announced on Thursday that its foreign currency reserves dropped 1.8 billion USD to 56.6 billion USD in the week of September 26th-October 6th.
Releasing a weekly bulletin, the Central Bank indicated that its total gross reserves also dropped 671 million USD to 87.4 billion USD on September 22nd. Of that, 28.8 billion USD was from privately owned institutions including commercial banks while the Central Bank held the rest.
Total gross reserves were 88 billion USD on September 15th.
Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 360 million USD in foreign dept between October 2nd and 11th.
