TOKYO - "Turkey should do more business with Japan's textile and ready garments industry which has a purchasing power of 50 billion USD," said Kursad Tuzmen, Turkish State Minister, in Tokyo.
Tuzmen inaugurated today the "Tokyo Turkish Fashion Fair" held at Akasaka Prince Hotel and organized by Istanbul Textile and Ready Garments Exporters Union.
Tuzmen indicated that Turkey is the fourth biggest manufacturer of the world ready made garments and ninth biggest manufacturer of textile goods.
''Turkey would share a bigger piece of the textile and ready garments pie in Japan'', noted Tuzmen.
The first "Tokyo Turkish Fashion Fair" was held in February, 2006. 32 companies and six designers are participating in the actual fair.
Turkish ready made garments, textile goods, leather shoes and leather products are exhibited in the fair.
