WASHINGTON - US President George W. Bush on Wednesday said he was pressing Iraqi leaders to "take bold measures to save their country," while warning that US patience with their efforts is "not unlimited."
"We are pressing Iraq`s leaders to take bold moves to save their country. We`re making it clear that America`s patience is not unlimited," he said just two weeks before key US elections overshadowed by the unpopular war.
"Yet we also understand the difficult challenges Iraq`s leaders face, and we will not put more pressure on the Iraqi government than it can bear," he said at a hastily called press conference.
