ISTANBUL - "3rd bridge on the Bosphorus may be included in our construction program next year," Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas said on Tuesday.
When recalled the words of Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan who said that a 3rd bridge would be set up in Istanbul, Topbas said, "in 2007 there may be a a public tender (to determine prospective constructors)."
"Related units of Ministry of Housing & Public Works are still working on the issue," Topbas noted.
He remarked that the bridge should essentially carry the lorries and trucks traffic.
