ANKARA - The exhibition of ''Masterpieces of Japanese Ceramic of Five Thousand Years'' was opened at Ankara's State Museum of Painting and Statue on Wednesday.
The exhibition is comprised of 57 unique pieces of Japanese art of ceramic which were brought in from the Ceramic Museum in Aichi, Japan.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism Undersecretary Mustafa Isen and Japanese Ambassador to Turkey Tomoyuki Abe were in attendance at the inauguration of the exhibition.
Speaking at the inauguration, Isen said that the art brought Turkey and Japan together despite the distance between the countries.
Meanwhile, Japanese Ambassador Tomoyuki Abe said in his part that Japan, like Turkey, was one of the countries having the oldest culture of ceramic in the world.
Earlier, Japanese ceramics were displayed at Istanbul's State Gallery of Fine Arts between October 11 and 28, 2003.
