ANKARA - Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) on Wednesday dismissed former DEHAP leader Mehmet Abbasoglu, former Secretary General Nurettin Sonmez and Ayhan Demir from party membership.
Abbasoglu, Sonmez and Demir had been sentenced to imprisonment on charges of arranging counterfeit documents prior to the November 3 elections and attempting to show the party as if it had completed its legal formation.
Supreme Court of Appeals called on DEHAP to dismiss Abbasoglu, Sonmez and Demir from party membership.
Under Article 11 of Political Parties Law, those who were sentenced on ''falsification'' can not be a member of political parties.
