Attack On Turkish Embassy In The Hague

THE DUTCH POLICE TAKE SECURITY MEASURES AROUND EMBASSY

THE HAGUE - After the molotov cocktail attack on the Turkish Embassy in the Hague, the Dutch police took security measures around the Embassy on Tuesday.
Issuing a statement, the Turkish Embassy in The Hague stated that an attack was launched on the Embassy around 11.30 a.m the same day and that the assailant fired the molotov cocktail in front of the security part at the entrance of the building.
Noting that the fire which broke out was taken under control in short time and no casualties were reported, the Embassy said that the explosion caused great damage in the waiting room at the entrance.
The Dutch police took necessary security measures around the Embassy after the attack, the Embassy said adding that ''the Dutch Foreign Minister Jaap de Hoop Scheffer phoned Turkish Ambassador Tacan Ildem and expressed sorrow over the incident. Mr. Swartbol, the chief foreign affairs consular of Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende also called Ildem and conveyed the good wishes of Balkanende.''
Meanwhile the Dutch police said that a suspect who was 26 years old and who was from Harlem city, was caught after the attack, adding there was no indication so far that it was a political attack. The Dutch Foreign Ministry also confirmed that a person was taken into custody.
