LOS ANGELES - Hollywood idol Leonardo DiCaprio is going green in a new reality television show, a report said Tuesday.
Entertainment trade journal Variety reported that DiCaprio's Appian Way company would be partners in a television show, "E-Topia", which will take a down-and-out town and rebuild it into an eco-friendly community.
The producers have yet to select a town to be given its eco-makeover, but Craig Piligian, who has previously worked on the hit "Survivor" series, described the plan as "incredibly ambitious."
"Take an American town that has been destroyed and bring it back to its former glory and then some," Piligian told Variety.
"This time it'll be stronger, better, cleaner. This town will be reborn as the prototype for the future."
DiCaprio, who is renowned for backing environmental projects, will work as co-creator and executive producer on the series.
