ANKARA - Military attaches of foreign missions in Turkey visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder and the first president of modern and secular Republic of Turkey, on Tuesday.
Military attaches of 48 countries including Iran, visited the mausoleum under the leadership of General Staff Intelligence Department Chairman General Huseyin Goksu and Military Attache General Yusuf Akbar of Bangladesh.
They laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence.
General Goksu signed the special book of the mausoleum on behalf of Association of Attaches in Ankara, ''we are determined to make your principle 'Peace at Home, Peace in the World' dominant in whole world. As heirs and defenders of the secular and democratic Republic, we stand at the presence together with military attaches of foreign missions in Ankara. We pledge once again to progress on the path of civilization and peace.''
Meanwhile, General Akbar signed the book saying, ''we are pleased with visiting mausoleum of Ataturk.''
