BURSA - Exports in automotive sector increased 55 percent to 5.8 billion U.S. dollars in January-October period of 2003.
In the same period last year, exports from automotive sector were 3.7 billion U.S. dollars.
Uludag Exporters' Associations (UIB) told the A.A on Tuesday that exports from automotive sector increased 55 percent to 5 billion 848 million 779 thousand U.S. dollars in January-October period of 2003, while this figure was 3 billion 772 million 978 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period of 2002.
The sector exported its products to 14 free zones and 176 countries and autonomous regions in January-October 2003.
Germany ranked the first with 982 million 411 thousand U.S. dollars among the countries to which automotive exports were sent. France, Italy, Britain and Spain followed Germany.
The exports of automotive and by industry products in January-October of 2003 are as follows:
