ERDOGAN: MIGRATION SHOULD BE TAKEN UNDER CONTROL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that migration to Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir should be taken under control. Mayors supported him. Erdogan said that people should enter and exit Istanbul by transporting certificates. Erdogan brought onto the agenda again his proposal on visa implementation which he defended when he was serving as mayor. Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir mayors supported his proposal.

DISCREDITABLE ZEROS
Central Bank said that the biggest banknote was 20 million Turkish liras (TL) in Turkey and stated that but the biggest banknote did not exceed 500 thousand in the world. Central Bank said that erasing zeros from TL on January 1, 2005 was seemed appropriate for showing the determination on decreasing inflation rate.

TECHNOLOGY BASE FROM VESTEL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened Vestel City of Zorlu Holding in Manisa province on Saturday. Vestel City will produce digital TV, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher and air conditioner. Vestel City is showed among the biggest complexes of Europe with its technology and capacity of production. Erdogan said that Turkey should first obtain money from production. Delivering a speech at the opening of the Vestel City, Vestel Executive Board Chairman Ahmet Zorlu said that the City would provide indirectly 100 thousand people with job opportunities.

EROGLU: TURKEY WILL NOT MAKE ANY INTERVENTION BEFORE OR AFTER ELECTIONS
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said that Turkey would not make any intervention before or after elections in TRNC and added that it did not have such an intention, either. Eroglu said that Turkish government attributed great importance to elections to be held in a fair, transparent and democratic atmosphere. Eroglu said that no one should attempt to include Turkish government and Turkey's representatives in such baseless news stories and stated that Turkish Cypriot people would not give credit to such Greek Cypriot games. Eroglu said that elections would be held in a fair, democratic and transparent atmosphere in TRNC and stated that elections were open to international observers. He added that they were inviting those observers to TRNC.

STATE MINISTER BABACAN SAYS LETTER OF INTENT WAS SENT TO IMF
State Minister Ali Babacan said that the letter of intent on the sixth review was sent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and stated that the letter of intent included practices, targets and policies for the future. ''Following some certain legal arrangements, IMF Board is expected to convene in the second half of November and to decide to finalize the Sixth Review process. Later, another tranche of nearly 500 million U.S. dollars will be released,'' he said.

IRAQ CRISIS AT DAMASCUS SUMMIT
Foreign ministers of neighboring countries with Iraq convened in Syrian capital Damascus at a summit meeting. During the meeting, foreign ministers put forward different views about methods of setting up relations with the Iraqi Governing Council. Jordan and Kuwait proposed to invite Iraq to the meetings. The proposal was accepted following tete-a-tete meetings among foreign ministers. However, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari turned down the invitation saying that it was too late.

TALIBAN GIVES A PERIOD OF TWO DAYS TO RELEASE ONAL
Those who kidnapped Hasan Onal, a Turkish engineer working on a U.S.-funded road project in Afghanistan, gave a period of two days for release of their six imprisoned friends in exchange for him. Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said that the Turkish Embassy in Afghan capital Kabul and the other relevant units had launched necessary initiatives to save Onal. Onal and his Afghan driver were abducted at gunpoint on Thursday while travelling in the Shah Joy district of Zabul province on the main highway linking the capital Kabul with the southern province of Kandahar. The driver was released on Friday and given a letter to the authorities threatening to kill Onal unless their six friends were released.

MINORITY PEACE IN AEGEAN
While the Greek government has been holding talks with Turkish minority in Western Thrace, Turkish government has been holding talks with officials of Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in order to solve problems of minorities. Both Turkish and Greek governments described the minorities as their citizens.

GUL: ''WE CANNOT TALK ABOUT THE ISSUE OF IRAQ EVERY DAY''
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul reacted to questions about dispatch of Turkish soldiers to Iraq. He told reporters, ''the issue does not take place on our agenda for the time being. It is meaningless to talk about the issue of Iraq every day.''

KIZILAY TO BECOME SCENE OF DEMONSTRATIONS EVERY SATURDAY
Non-governmental organizations forming Ankaram Platform have decided to hold demonstrations in Ankara's Kizilay Square every Saturday to protest the new pedestrian traffic arrangement in the square.

HUGE INVESTMENT FROM ZORLU HOLDING
Vestel City which is the biggest research, development and production facility of Europe was opened with a ceremony in the Aegean Manisa province. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who made a speech at the opening of the Vestel City said that he was very pleased with being in the opening of such a magnificent facility and stated that Turkey was overcoming problems threatening economy one by one. Zorlu Holding Executive Board Chairman Ahmet Nazif Zorlu said that the plant would cost 500 million U.S. dollars and it would produce digital TV, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher and air conditioner.

MOTHER OF PARLIAMENT SPEAKER ARINC DIES
Sevdiye Arinc, mother of Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, died. Sevdiye Arinc, who were given medical treatment at Uludag University Medicine Faculty in Bursa province, died at the age of 84. Bulent Arinc could not participate in the Republic Day reception in Presidential Palace as his mother was being given medical treatment at the hospital due to her cardiac and kidney problems. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who learnt death of Sevdiye Arinc went to Bursa to visit Arinc family and offered his condolences to relatives of Sevdiye Arinc.
