Foreign Ministry Meeting On Iraq And Middle East

ANKARA - Turkish Ambassadors working in the Middle East came together in Foreign Ministry under the leadership of Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal on Friday.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, Turkish Ambassadors to Damascus, Baghdad, Tehran, Beirut, Riyadh, Amman, Tel-Aviv, Turkey's special representative to Iraq Osman Koruturk and Foreign Ministry's Middle East department officials attended the meeting.
Sources who referred to the ''change'' in the region, pointed out to the chaotic situation in Iraq and the fact that the Middle East Peace Process halted. Noting that Turkish ambassadors would give information to Ankara about the recent developments in their regions, sources said that if necessary, a decision would be taken after assessing those information.
Sources added that tomorrow's meeting of neighbours of Iraq in Damascus, Syria could also come to agenda, yet it was noted that it was only a coincidence that the meeting in Foreign Ministry was held before the Damascus meeting.
