WASHINGTON - The United States has detected "no evidence" that North Korea has carried out a second nuclear explosion, a White House spokesman said late Tuesday.
"We have detected no evidence of additional North Korean testing," said spokesman Blair Jones in the wake of a Japanese report of a new test.
"Japanese officials are now saying that this occurence may be related to an earthquake in northern Japan. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and consult with our allies in the region," he added.
