ANKARA - "EU talks are not pursued only by frequent visits to Brussels or EU countries. We firstly should fulfill our homework. We should live the process inside Turkey," said Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan while assessing EU process to Justice & Development Party`s (AKP) "Turkey Bulletin".
He said that screening process will be completed on October 13th, 2006, and then they will focus on de facto talks.
Stressing that EU accession process is not fully understood yet, Babacan noted that things will be settled when process goes ahead.
Noting that Cyprus issue should not be an obstacle before Turkey`s EU membership, Babacan said that EU cannot explain (to the world and Turkey) any interruption on membership process which will be caused by Cyprus issue.
