IZMIR - Turkish police confiscated 4 kilograms of plastic explosives in an operation against the terrorist organization PKK in western city of Izmir.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-terror teams followed a 48-year-old person with initials R.D., and raided his house in Izmir's Kadifekale neighborhood.
The explosives, materials used in bomb production, an unlicensed gun and 13 bullets were seized in the house.
The 48-year-old person was detained in the operation.
Meanwhile, police sources said that R.D. had earlier been arrested on charges of aiding and abetting, and providing logistic support to the terrorist organization PKK.
They also noted that R.D. provided the bomb planted in a bank branch, and the bomb detonated when a military vehicle was passing by in Yamanlar neighborhood.
