MARMARIS - Turkish Naval Forces Command's TCG Gaziantep frigate has left for Lebanon on Friday to serve at the Naval Forces Command of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Authorities told the A.A correspondent that TCG Gaziantep (F-490) frigate departed from Aksaz Base in Marmaris town (in southwestern city of Mugla) for Lebanon to serve at UNIFIL in accordance with the resolution 1701 dated August 11th, 2006 of UN Security Council.
19 officers and 203 non-commissioned officers and privates are assigned on board the TCG Gaziantep frigate (135.6 meters in length, 13.7 meters in width). The frigate also has a Sea Hawk helicopter.
