REMAINS OF 11 TURKISH CYPRIOTS FOUND
The Autonomous Committee for Missing People in Cyprus has exhumed remains of 11 Turkish Cypriots who had been missing for 42 years, in an olive grove near Larnaca, the Greek Cypriot administration.

A SENTENCE COSTS 10 PERCENT DECREASE
After Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that military service was not the place to relax, his Justice & Development Party (AKP) has lost 9.75 percent of its votes.

CYPRUS DUEL
The Cyprus issue was high on agenda of the meeting between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. While Merkel noted that the Ankara Protocol must be implemented, and Turkey must open its ports and airports to the Greek Cypriot traffic, Erdogan stressed that Turkey will not take any unilateral steps unless isolation of Turkish Cypriots is lifted.

Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc has indicated that he was afraid of two things in the life. "One of them is relations with women and the other is relations based on money. These two can have serious consequences in the political life," he said.

A public survey on "impacts of the prime minister`s attitudes" has revealed that 59.5 percent of Turkish people considered Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan "extremely prickly".

MERKEL: "YOU SHOULD OPEN PORTS TO GREEK CYPRIOT SHIPS"
German Chancellor Angela Merkel who is paying a two-day visit to Turkey had a meeting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Merkel and Erdogan discussed mostly Turkish people`s integration into Germany. In regard to Turkey`s EU accession, Merkel stated that Turkey should open its ports and airports to Greek Cypriot ships and airplanes to maintain its EU perspective. Erdogan responded Merkel`s words by saying: "We can not accept this as a pre-condition. Above all, isolation on TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) should be lifted by EU countries. Until it is lifted, we will not open our ports and airports."

AGE OF ELIGIBILITY TO BE DEPUTY TO BE 25
The ruling Justice & Development Party (AKP) proposed a constitutional amendment in order to decrease the age of eligibility to be a deputy from 30 to 25. Main opposition Republican People`s Party (CHP) supported the proposal of AKP.

MERKEL: "TWO COUNTRIES SHOULD BOOST COOPERATION"
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is paying her first visit to Turkey as the chancellor, gave the message that there should be more cooperation in bilateral and international matters between the two countries. Merkel who stayed in Ankara for three hours was received by Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and had a meeting with Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Merkel and Erdogan later proceeded to Istanbul.

INFLATION FIGURE FOR OCTOBER TO BE HIGHER THAN EXPECTED
Central Bank has announced that inflation figure for October would be higher than expected due to Ramadan.

UNITY BETWEEN CHP, DSP AND SHP
According to a survey conducted in 14 megacities (of Turkey) by Sonar Research Company, an alliance of left political parties is a powerful alternative against Justice & Development Party (AKP). The survey said that if there is an alliance among Republican People`s Party (CHP), Democratic Left Party (DSP) and Social Democratic People`s Party (SHP), it will gain 27.06 percent of votes. The survey noted that AKP has 27.80 percent of votes.

ARINC CRITICIZES BUYUKANIT
After the statement of Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit who said, "there are senior statesmen who question the definition of secularism", Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc stated, "if he refers me by his words, I feel sad."

The ruling Justice & Development Party (AKP) has proposed a constitutional amendment in order to decrease the age of eligibility to be a deputy from 30 to 25. The proposal will be debated by the parliament on October 10th.

FUNNY STATEMENT FOR FUNNY EVENT
Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan and Central Bank Governor Durmus Yilmaz have held talks with a "fake Somalian delegation". The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank released a joint statement following the event, reading, "we did not take seriously views and proposals of the delegation anyway."

TURKISH TROOPS TO LEAVE FOR LEBANON NEXT WEEK
The TCG Gaziantep frigate of the Turkish Naval Forces will leave for Lebanon today to join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Meanwhile, nearly 300 Turkish troops will be sent to Lebanon on October 12th. The Turkish contingent will be deployed in an area some 15 kilometers away from the port of Tyre.

TURKISH TROOPS TO LEAVE FOR LEBANON TODAY
Turkish Naval Forces Command announced that the TCG Gaziantep frigate would leave for Lebanon today to join the Naval Forces Command of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Releasing a statement, the Turkish Naval Forces Command said, "the TCG Gaziantep frigate will leave for Lebanon on Friday. Also, two corvettes and two vessels will join the UNIFIL in the coming days to carry out transportation duty."
