ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday, ''development of our country tops our agenda.''
Prime Minister Erdogan attended the reception hosted by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer at the Cankaya Presidential Palace to mark the 80th anniversary of foundation of the Republic of Turkey.
Responding questions of journalists about arguments over different invitations for the reception, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''development of our country tops our agenda. I do not want to be involved in such arguments. We have been celebrating the 80th anniversary of foundation of the Republic of Turkey together with our people. We want the Republic and democracy to become closer to each other.''
Upon another question, Prime Minister Erdogan said that most of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputies were celebrating the Republic Day in their election districts.
