ANKARA - Turkish coast guard arrested 30 illegal migrants in the Aegean Sea in the last two days, Coast Guard Command announced today.
A statement by the Command indicated that a Turkish coast guard boat detained six Mauritanians in Aegean town of Ayvalik who entered Turkey illegally.
On the other hand, 3 Iraqis, 17 Somalians, and 4 Saudi Arabians were taken into custody in Aegean town of Cesme. One Greek captain was also arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the illegal migrants.
The illegal migrants will be deported once legal proceedings are completed.
