ANKARA - Hugh Bredenkamp, International Monetary Fund (IMF) senior resident representative in Turkey, said on Thursday that an IMF mission headed by Lorenzo Giorgianni would visit Turkey between October 9th and 20th.
Releasing a written statement, Bredenkamp said that the IMF mission would discuss with Turkish authorities progress in implementing their economic program, which is supported by the IMF under a three-year Stand-by arrangement.
"The mission will take stock of recent economic developments, assess the outlook, and discuss any steps that may be needed to secure program objectives," he said.
"The discussions are expected to cover budgetary prospects and policies, the inflation outlook and its implications for policy, tax reforms and measures to strengthen tax administration, the preparations for implementing social security reforms, and progress in further strengthening bank supervision and reforming the state banks" Bredenkamp added.
