ANKARA - The ruling Justice & Development Party (AKP) will propose a constitutional amendment in order to decrease the age of eligibility to be a deputy from 30 to 25.
Article 76 of the Constitution says that every Turkish citizen over the age of 30 is eligible to be a deputy.
AKP wants to decrease the age of eligibility to 25.
AKP will first discuss the proposal with the Republican People`s Party (CHP) and the Motherland Party (ANAVATAN).
