ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank announced on Thursday that its foreign currency reserves rose 2.2 million USD to 58.5 billion USD in the week of September 22nd-29th.
Releasing a weekly press bulletin, the Central Bank indicated that Turkey`s total gross reserves dropped nearly 300 million USD to 88 billion USD on September 22nd. Of that, 29 billion USD was from privately owned institutions including commercial banks while the Central Bank held the rest.
Total gross reserves were 88.3 billion USD on September 8th.
Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 253.7 million USD in foreign debt between October 2nd and 4th.
