IZMIR - "More than 20 thousand people wait for kidney transplant while nearly a thousand others wait for liver transplant in Turkey," said Prof. Dr. Huseyin Gulay from the Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) Faculty of Medicine Surgery Department.
DEU Organ Transplant Coordination Office have launched a new initiative to inform people on organ transplant and increase number of organ donations.
Prof. Dr. Gulay highlighted importance of organ donation, saying, "more than 20 thousand people wait for kidney transplant while nearly a thousand others wait for liver transplant."
"We will continue launching similar initiatives to draw attention of people to the importance of organ donation," he added.
