TRABZON - Turkey obtained an income worth of 207 million 847 thousand U.S. dollars through hazelnut export on the eighth week of export season.
According to figures of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey gained 207 million 847 thousand U.S. dollars by exporting 50 thousand 819 tones of hazelnut on the eighth week of 2003-2004 season that started on September 1.
Turkey exported 50.072 tones of hazelnut to the European Union (EU) countries, 5.709 tones of hazelnut to other European countries and 2.638 tones of hazelnut to overseas countries.
In the same period of the previous season, Turkey had exported 92 thousand 755 tons of hazelnut and obtained an income of 208 million 928 thousand U.S. dollars.
