Red Crescent Sends Six Trucks Of Humanitarian Aid To Iraq

ANKARA - Red Crescent sent on Tuesday six trucks of humanitarian aid to Iraq.
Red Crescent Chairman Ertan Gonen told a press conference that this humanitarian aid to Iraq which was the second consignment was comprised of 5 thousand blankets, 2 thousand mattresses, 500 stoves, 500 hygienic sets, 500 packages of food which would be sufficient for a month, 500 tents and medicine and medical equipment.
Gonen said that the humanitarian aid which was sent to Iraq upon demand of Iraqi Health Ministry and Red Crescent would be distributed to 2 thousand 500 families.
The humanitarian aid comprised of six trucks, one communication vehicle and personnel would be handed over to Iraqi Red Crescent at the border, Gonen noted.
Gonen said that the aid would be distributed in Kirkuk by Turkish and Iraqi Red Crescent.
Operation against Iraq cost 8.2 million U.S. dollars to Red Crescent, Gonen stated.
Gonen said that there would be three more consignments in certain intervals.
The Red Crescent did not face any problems in transfer of aid, Gonen added.
