ANKARA - German Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel met representatives of several commissions in the Turkish Parliament on Wednesday.
Gabriel had a meeting with Parliamentary Industry Commission Chairman Soner Aksoy.
Aksoy briefed Gabriel about energy policies in Turkey.
Gabriel said that they attached great importance to renewable energy sources and energy policies, stating that they would hold talks about these matters in Istanbul, (western city) Izmir and (southern city) Antalya.
Gabriel and accompanying delegation later met Parliamentary Environment Commission Chairman Munir Erkal.
Erkan indicated that international relations were of great importance in regard to the area of environment, noting that the law on environment was an important step regarding integration into the EU.
Gabriel stressed that they were always ready to assist Turkey in the area of environment.
