CANAKKALE - A Cambodian-flagged cargo ship, that ran aground at the Canakkale Strait yesterday, was rescued today, sources said.
Sources told A.A correspondent that the ship was rescued by a tug-boat, while authorities noted that the ship will dock at Kepez port after necessary procedures are completed.
The cargo ship was carrying kaolin from Ukraine to Canakkale's Kepez port when it ran aground in a shallow area off Kepez Lighthouse.
The ship was 82.50 meters in length and 1,532 gross tons in weight.
