ANKARA - Ankara will continue to host dignitaries following working trips of European Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, diplomats said today.
Diplomatic sources noted that Afghan FM Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta will be in Turkey from October 10th to 13th.
Spanta, who graduated from Ankara University`s Faculty of Political Sciences, was appointed to this position by Afghan President Hamid Karzai on April 20th, 2006.
After Spanta`s visit, OECD SG Jose Angel Gurria will be the guest of Turkish FM Abdullah Gul between October 16th-19th.
Another dignitary Ankara will host in October is Belgian FM Karel De Gucht. Gucht is expected to be visiting Ankara on October 30th-31st.
On the other hand, Turkish FM Gul is scheduled to visit Morocco on October 12th-13th, and be in Luxembourg on October 17th to participate in Turkey-EU Troika meeting.
Gul is expected to visit Afghanistan after October.
